This week's sketch is a fun one. We have interpretations from a card, two layouts and a canvas. It's always so much fun to see how each person uses a sketch.
This week, Design Team Member, Linda Harrison created a canvas for her son using this sketch.
All-Star Canvas from Linda Harrison
Patterned Paper: Minestrone: Elbow Macaroni/Cannellini Beans/Thin Zucchini/Chopped Tomatoes
Alphabeans: Really Red, Green Graph
Other: Making Memories paint, Quickutz diecuts, Sharpie pen, Fancy Pants Chipboard, Misc. baseball brad, canvas
I used this simple sketch to create a simple canvas for my son's room. I painted the base of the canvas light blue and attached the strip of Cannellini Beans paper from the Minestrone collection. I used a couple different star dies to cut stars out of the Elbow Macaroni, Thin Zucchini and Chopped Tomatoes patterned papers. I scattered the diecut stars up the right side of the canvas over the patterned paper. I printed three small photos of my son from the three years he has played t-ball/little league and attached them to the canvas with Scotch Pop-Up Foam Squares by 3M. I then painted a chipboard star with navy blue paint, dotted with a white paint pen, used the Really Red alphabeans to put the title 'all star' and finished with two Green Graph alphabean stars and a baseball brad.

Alphabeans: Pertie Pink
Bean Stalks: Brown/Natural
Other: Tim Holtz coupons, Fiskars star punches, American Crafts Thickers, Therm-o-web Zots, Colorbox ink
The pink letters were too bright for the page so I toned them down with brown ink - a little dab here and there. The same goes for the white Thickers.
We'll have the winner posted on Friday for the Soup Sketch contest.
