We are so excited this week to be using a sketch by Becky Fleck that was in her VERY popular book, Page Maps. If you haven't checked out this book, you MUST! The book has a wonderful spiral binding that allows the book to lay flat when open on your desk. Each sketch through out the book has fantastic layout ideas. PLUS, all the sketches have pull out cards in the back of the book for easy, on the go scrapping. Becky also has a website full of more sketches to follow. www.pagemaps.com
This week Jill, Linda and Ingrid took on the sketch to create layouts and cards for us to enjoy.
Supplies:
Jillibean Soup
Patterned Paper: White Bean/Sliced Bacon, Chicken Broth
Journaling Sprouts: Circle/Black on White
Other: My Sentiments Exactly alphabet stamps (Y203 Simplicity), Bazzill cardstock, , Imaginesence brad, Tsukineko ink, Bazzill edge, Doodlebug frill, K&Company grass border, Me & My Big Ideas rhinestone, Uniball Signo pen.
I followed this sketch pretty exact for the paper placement and swirl designs. I love the natural balance this gave the layout. For the journaling and title, I used a journaling sprout on which I stamped a small sentiment and then added a handcut title which I curved around the sprout. I added two solid color borders for definition and added color and a 'grass-like' border for fun. The swirls were created by lightly stamping images from some old stamps and then using a white pen to create a bolder white design. Lastly, I added a yellow fabric brad to the right of the layout to balance the strip of yellow on the right.

Supplies:
Jillibean Soup
Patterned Paper: White Bean/Pepper to Taste, Sliced Bacon, Northern Beans
Journaling Sprouts: Green Circles on White
Alpha Beans: Black Text
other: Colorbox ink, Martha Stewart butterfly punch, The Paper Co. bling, corrugated paper.
I followed another layout in the Page Maps book. If you have the book, the example I followed is on page 48 - lower right hand corner - by Marla Kress. I've been wanting to use more sprouts on a page and found that this layout worked perfectly. You don't have to use them for journaling. :-) The rest fell into place with the photo, alphas and journaling.
BTW...you can win a copy of Page Maps on Jill's blog this week!

These are all great. Linda, love how you mixed the gray and yellow, a combo that is so popular in fashion & decorating right now & very cute pup you have! Jill, Brooke looks so cute in this pic and I love all the sprouts. Ingrid, you used my personal favorite papers, spicy pumpkin rocks and so does your card!
