Good Friday!!!
As you are getting ready to wrap up your gifts, how about topping them off with a few paper bows? Becky Williams created a great little gift bow with a paper bow that we shared on Monday. Today she shows us how she made the bow.
A pdf file of this tutorial can be found over on the left side of the blog under the 'recipes' section.
Enjoy!
Jillibean Soup Paper Bow Tutorial
by Becky Williams
I am excited to share a quick and easy tutorial with you on how to make cute paper bows. This is a great way to use up some of your scraps and add a nice personal touch to gifts as well.
1. First of all, gather your supplies:
-favorite Jillibean Soup paper ( I used some Pasta Fagioli, Soup Staples, Summer Squash Soup and Monster Stew. )
-paper trimmer
-stapler and/or liquid glue
-ink if desired
-twine, ribbon, corrugated and/or canvas shapes, buttons, etc. for bow centers
2. Cut strips of paper to make bow. For this sample bow I cut 3 of each size of 3 kinds of paper:
Cut 3 strips each: ½ inch by 12 inches, 5/8 inch by 12 inches, ¾ inch by 12 inches
*You can also cut strips in the same pattern and can vary the width/length of strips as well as the number of strips you use based on the desired bow fullness.
3. Bend strip in half and staple/glue at center. Do not crease the ends. Make sure that you put the side that you want to have seen on the outside. Do this with each strip for your bow.
4. Overlap pieces and staple or glue, adding pieces until the bow is as full as you’d like.
5. Add desired embellishment to the center of your bow and add to gift for a beautiful handmade touch.
Thanks so much Becky for a quick and easy tutorial that we can do with our scraps!
