It's Day 3 of our "4 Days of Giveaways"!!! Remember, you can still comment on the first 2 Days of Giveaways! We'll pick all the winners on Tuesday!
You guys seem to like walking down Memory Lane with me... so I have another story to tell. Do you ever wonder how these companies get started? I don't know about all the others but mine started on a whim. I was pregnant with my 3rd child, was on bedrest at home and was trying to scrapbook while lying down (it was tough). At that time Hall of Fame, Masters and other competitons were really big. Everyone wanted to be the next best thing. I decided I was going to try out for Scrapbooker of the Year (CK) - even though I had never even been published. Somehow, I wanted to get started in this Scrapbooking industry that I had a passion for and loved. Obviously, I was not picked for Scrapbooker of the Year, nor was I even considered. I was bummed. My 3rd child was born and life went on. One day I met another Mom at preschool who was a graphic designer. At the time, I was starting to get these ideas in my head about starting a paper company. I researched and researched and researched different companies, products, marketing, business plans, etc, etc. I approached the graphic designer Mom at preschool to see if this was something she would be interested in doing with me. We started out together on this journey. Unfortunately things did not work out with her but I decided to keep moving forward and hire a designer (for those of you that don't know - I'm not a graphic designer but I'm very involved in the design of the products). From there, things just moved forward. One of our local scrapbook stores (Scrapbook Art) was taking new ownership and I presented my products to them. I was really nervous and didn't think they would take me seriously. They did and when I met with them, they said they wanted to order all of my new products. Holy cow! How did that happen! That was in September of 08'... hence the Jillibean Birthday - when our products were first introduced into the marketplace!
Ok, done rambling :) How about another GIVEAWAY? What's up for today? How about a $50 Gift Certificate for Jillibean Soup Products? Leave a comment below! We'll pick a winner on Tuesday!
