Welcome back to another #trending Tuesday! Like a lot of scrappers, I look to Pinterest for my inspiration for some of my projects. Sometimes, it is just right dose of inspiration that gets my creative juices flowing.
Today, I want to share with you an inspiration piece and I how I went about using it to create a page, using my stash of Jillibean Soup.
Here is my inspiration piece I chose. I really love the funky hand cut lettering and thought it would make a fun title for a scrapbook page.
I have lots of scrap paper in my stash that I just can't seem to part with - so I thought this would be perfect to use up some of those!
I started by grabbing similar sized papers from my scrap pile that I wanted to use. I chose a title, and arranged the papers side by side to see how they would line up together. You can see that I used similar sized scraps and a mixture of colors like in the inspiration piece.
Next, I flipped the papers over to their backside and and drew each letter backwards in a chunky block letter.
Next up, I trimmed out the outside of the shape. I didn't cut out the center of the "A" for fun:) Once all the letters were cut out, I added some stitching and foam dots behind to pop them off the page.
I wanted to add a longer title and immediately grabbed my yellow Alphabeans. The font is great for longer titles, as it is clean and sleek style. I usually cheat a little to line them up, so I used a scrap edge of one of my patterned papers and gently stuck the tops of the Alphabeans to the bottom of that scrap edge, so that they all lined up as I liked them.
Keeping the letters on the edge of the scrap paper, I then used this to lift it on to my page to choose the placement.
If you press the bottoms of the Alphabeans down on the page, where you want them, you can wiggle the tops off the scrap paper and your title is lined up nicely!
Here is my completed project:
