Hello Jillibean Soup friends! Today is the first day of October. October not only means fall and sweaters, it also means that we introduce some new collections. The new Jillibean Soup You Make MISO Happy paper collection is so fun and colorful you will want to make a happy card for someone. Designer Nicole Nowosad created this whimsical card using several patterns from the new collection, combined with a trusty circle punch to create fun, bold flowers on the front of the card base. A simple title, snipped from Bonito Flakes paper, make a perfect sentiment for the card.
Other: Cardstock, vellum, circle punches, enamel dots.
Like the look of patterned paper? Here’s an idea for you! Make your own patterned paper with stamps. Simply take an image and stamp it over and over. Not great with coloring things in with markers? That’s ok. Pick one object on the image, such as the dog’s tie, and add color to it everywhere you stamped. Consider mixing things up by using two different colors of markers rather than just one.
Other: Cardstock, Ink, Markers, Corner Rounder.
Have you ever wanted to add a clothesline to a stamped card? It’s easy! Use a black pen to draw a straight line across your card. Unsteady with your hand? Use a ruler as a guide. Finish your clothesline by doodling some ties at the end of it. Stamp and die-cut several pieces of clothing to “hang” on your clothesline. Use 3D Foam Circles (from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L) to adhere them to the card. This will make them pop! Wondering about the text background on this card? It was easy! I simply took a sentiment stamp and stamped it over and over again.
New to stamping? Here’s a fun idea for making a card. Create a background paper by sponging several colors of ink in circles on cardstock. Stamp and die-cut several sea creatures from cardstock. If you haven’t used stamps with dies before, here’s quick tutorial just for you! Stamp your images on cardstock.
Set the dies on top of them with the cutting side down. The dies should basically “frame” the stamped images. Use removeable sticky note (or Washi tape) to hold the dies in place.
Run the dies and stamped images through your manual die-cutting machine. You’ll end up with perfectly cut stamped images.
Color the images in with markers or pencils. Adhere them to your card with 3D Foam Circles from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. The foam will give them lots of pop! Finish your card off with by stamping a sentiment and a few air bubbles.
