Friday News and a GIVEAWAY!!!!

It's Friday!  Yay!  This will be the first weekend I haven't worked in quite some time and I'm looking forward to it!  I'm helping with our church's Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday and the girls are looking forward to that too. 

I've got some news and updates to share (and maybe a giveaway - shhh)...

First up, thank you to everyone that visited us at the Columbus Memories Expo or at our Warehouse Sale - it's always nice to see friendly faces.  Also, thank you to everyone that purchased online for the Warehouse Sale - we were inundated with orders and are still working on shipping them out!   Thank you bunches for the support!

Next up, we're doing some updating around the blog - like the new look?  Love those cute little wooden flags on the sides!  Thank you Laina and Kimber!  We're also updating our online stores, upcoming events and partners.  If you are an online store and you're not on our list - please shoot us an e-mail.

Speaking of upcoming events - Kimber and I are headed to Moncton, NB Canada for Scrapbook & Cards Today: Crop & Create at the end of April.  If you're able, we'd love to have you join us!  There's still time to sign up for Kimber's classes.  You can check out more info here.  Also, here's a quick sneak of one of the make n' takes I'll be offering during the crop...

Some DT news - we've had questions about whether or not we would be doing a DT call this spring.  We've decided to extend the current DT contract another 6 months simply because I do not have the time to focus on a call right now.  I look forward to seeing all the applications in the fall!  Thank you for your inquiries and excitement about being on the team.  We do need to say "good-bye" to Linda Barber, Celeste Smith and Julie Bonner who have decided not to stay on.  All 3 will surely be missed!  Thank you bunches girls for all your great inspiration!  Make sure to keep up with them on their personal blogs.  Also, we have a new addition - Maile Belles will be joining us with her amazing card designs!  More on that next month!

What's up Tuesday?

Jill here on this Tuesday before Thanksgiving!  I loved reading everyone's "thankful" comments on last Friday's giveaway.  I too have so very much to be thankful for - I'm reminded every time I see my 3 girls.  My middle daughter had a Thanksgiving play yesterday and she was the cutest little Indian girl.  I didn't cry but had "wet" eyes from pride.  We are truly blessed. Thank you for sharing your blessings too.

Also, I mentioned I would share a short tutorial on the sour cream containers.  Here you go...

Step 1: Grab your papers, tacky tape (or some other sticky tape), twine, crimper and embellies.

Step 2: Cut your paper to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

Step 3: Put tacky tape (or some other sticky tape) on 3 sides - 1 short and 2 long.  Make sure to put the tape on the backside - or the patterned side that will be in the inside of your container.  Peel off the tape cover.

Step 4: Roll 2 short sides together, overlap to form roll (like toilet paper roll).

Step 5: Pinch one of the ends together (I usually have the seam in the middle).

Step 6: Add your treats.

Step 7: Once you've filled it with treats, pinch it closed by pinching the second end in the opposite direction of the first seam.

Step 8: Crimp edges with a crimper.  You can skip this step if you do not have a crimper.  They still look cute ;).

Step 9: Embellish. 

These cuties have become one of my favorite new things to make.  I know they've been around for a while and I did not create anything new!  I love the simplicity of them!
