Today, we are going to integrate a trend in both fashion and scrapbooking industries. OMBRE! Ombre is term used from the French word meaning shaded or shading. It is essentially a variation of shades.

I decided I would try to make an Ombre like background for my page, using my stash of Jillibean Soup papers.
I started by decided on a color scheme-picking colors that would "blend" into each other. I laid out my papers onto my workspace and then lined the papers out going from dark to light. I used yellow and brown papers from a lot of Jillibean Soup lines, both old and new, to create an ombre.

I decided the simplest way to create the effect was to cut strips of each paper and lie them over the top of a cardstock base.

You can see I varied the size of the papers, along with the edge-whether it was straight or with a curved edge. I decided to cut some papers with a wavy edge and in between some, I left a small white gap to ease your eye a little.

From there, I went on to create my page, layering my photo, title and embellishments too! When I chose my embellishments, I stuck to the same/similar color palette of the paper layer that they were going to be placed on.
For example, I used some Chilled Cucumber Soup stamps with yellow ink to embellish part of the yellow area, along with some Jillibean Soup label stickers.

I continued the same process for the rest of the page, pulling out of my stash yellow/golden and brown stickers, pea pod shapes, and sprouts and layered different items on the page.

You can see that there are a few neutrals snuck in a few different places too - white and wooden/kraft buttons match everything!

Here is the final result of my page. I loved how the ombre turned out and I can see doing it again in different ways!
