We're going to start something different on Fridays for the next 2 months (or atleast until Christmas). Every Friday, we will feature a project that you can use for your holiday decorating or even gift giving. I know it's hard to believe that the holiday season is upon us...but it is. Only 3 weeks until Thanksgiving here in the states and 7 weeks until Christmas! Sooo, who doesn't need a little boost for some fun decorating or gift giving. They will all be easy projects - most you can do with your kids!
Our first project is a fun, simple "Give Thanks" banner.
Follow these simple steps to make a holiday banner...
1. Gather patterned paper (preferably Jillibean Lentil Soup :)), brown cardstock, decorative scissors, Jillibean Journaling Sprouts, Jillibean Corrugated Alphas, scallop punch, brown ink, some ribbon and twine.
2. Cut a triangle out of thin cardboard. Use this as your template for the patterned paper triangles.
3. Cut the patterned paper with your decorative scissors. I used Fiskars pinking shears.
4. Punch 10 scalloped circles out of the brown paper. I used a couple different sizes to use with the sprouts.
5. Ink the edges of the Sprouts, Corrugated Alphas and banner triangles. Layer 1 sprout, punched brown cardstock and Corrugated Alpha. Attach to the banner with pop dots or foam.
6. String twine along the backside of each banner triangle - attach with tape.
7. Tie ribbon around the twine in between each triangle.
8. Hang to share with all!
This is a fun project that kids can help with too!
ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE! I love the fact that the kids can help with this and also that you can use precious scraps & that you can use it year after year! Great project Jill!
