I'm such a hoarder of packaging as I can't seem to bring myself to throw anything away as I'm always afraid that I will need something the moment it's gone.
Hi, it's Melinda with you today and I'm going to show you how I upcycled the Jillibean Epoxy Button packaging into a fun sunflower card filled with chocolates.
Hi, it's Melinda with you today and I'm going to show you how I upcycled the Jillibean Epoxy Button packaging into a fun sunflower card filled with chocolates.
STEP ONE: Score and fold a sheet of white cardstock in half. Using a hand-held circle cutter make a 12cm wide circle with a slight overhang to allow for the folded edge.
STEP TWO: Using a craft knife and ruler gentle press the knife through the front of the card to create a perforated cross. (This allows access to the chocolates)
STEP THREE: On the reverse side of your patterned paper draw around the scalloped edge of the package to create your flower shape.
STEP FOUR: Cut out the flower shape from your patterned paper and using a hand-held circle cutter remove a 10cm wide circle from the centre. I have added a light dusting of chalk to the edges for added dimension.
STEP FIVE: Adhere the flower ring on top of the card with the perforated cross facing up.
STEP SIX: Using a tape runner add a line of adhesive around the inner edge of the flower and set aside.
STEP SEVEN: Run your craft knife gently underneath the plastic packaging to remove it from the cardboard backing sheet. Then fill the container with chocolates. Carefully place card (facing down) over the container and press gently to adhere together. Turn over and run your finger around the edge of the plastic container to make sure it is secure so you don't lose any chocolates.
STEP EIGHT: Cut a 12cm wide circle from patterned paper and an inner circle of 9cm in wide and snip a fringed edge around the outer edge.Adhere over the plastic container to hide the raw edge and gentle tease the fringed edge to give it a bit of dimension.
I finished off my card with a message to our retiring school Principal and attached it to a parcel of freshly baked biscuits.
Supplies:

I hope today's tutorial has given you some inspiration on how to transform your left over packaging. It's a great way to save money and also to do our bit for helping the planet.

This is such a great upcycle. I'm definitely going to use this idea since I purchsed some epoxy buttons at the warehouse sale. TFS!
