I've got a Halloween mini album to share and hopefully it will prove that you don't need a themed collection to create a themed project! I started by pulling papers, stickers, and embellishments from many collections, all keeping within the color scheme I chose. I stuck mainly to green, yellow, orange and blue.
I created my mini album pages from pieces of chipboard that I trimmed to be 5 1/4x 3 1/2 inches. I then covered each side in a patterned paper or a full sized photo. Sanding the edges slightly gives your pages a more finished look.
Next, I added my photos layered on some banner strips of patterned paper. I really like the look of things peeking out from the sides of the pages. So, I was sure to cut a couple of strips a bit wider than my pages.
Then comes my favorite step-embellishing! I go through my stash of label stickers and embellishments and add a little something extra to each page! Some of these, I use pop dots for extra dimension. I used the thin Alphabeans to add a couple of words to pages and I also embellished the front cover. Some pages got the added finishing touch of some adhesive sequins in coordinating colors.
For journaling, I typed it with my typewriter on white cardstock and trimmed to thin strips to add into my album.
There you have it! A Halloween mini album and not a scrap of Halloween themed product in sight! I lvoe the versatility of Jillibean Soup collections and patterns. I am never lost for inspiration!
