Do you love quick and simple cards? Jillibean Soup Design Team Member Laura Vegas sure does, and this card is a great example of how “quick and simple” doesn’t have to mean boring. She used an embossing folder on the white cardstock to add texture, and then combined it with several strips of patterned paper to create the background for her card. After tucking her sentiment card (cut from our Bite Size Bits patterned paper) under the top edge of the pink patterned paper, she added some machine stitching and a few fussy cut flowers to complete her card.

For this set of cards, Laura combined fussy cutting and die cutting to create two simple, but stunning cards. She kept the base of the card simple, by layering a die cut background, cut from white cardstock, over her white cardstock base. Laura also die cut her oversized sentiment from patterned paper, adding that to the center of the card, and then arranged several floral clusters around the outside edges, using flowers that she fussy cut from a sheet of patterned paper. A few tiny adhesive sequins were the only embellishing these cards needed.

Just starting stamping? Afraid you are going to mess up your next card? Here’s an idea for you. Consider using stamps that come with coordinating dies. Start by stamping the images for your card on cardstock. Place the coordinating dies on top of them with the cutting side facing down. Use a little sticky note tape (or Washi tape) to hold the dies in place and then die-cut the images with a manual die-cutting machine. You’ll end up with a whole pile of images to decorate your card with.
