Last month I did 3 cards that featured cross stitching backgrounds. I loved how the stitching added texture to my projects and knew instantly that I wanted to do a title that incorporated this same technique. I created a PDF pattern for you to download if you want to create this same look on your next layout. Print the guide and using a paper piercer or push pin punch the marked holes.

A couple of tips: use washi to temporarily adhere your guide to your layout so it doesn’t move around while you punch the holes and mark out your letters with “x’s” so you know where you want to stitch. Some of the areas of the letters blend and knowing in advance where your stitches should go will help. If you prefer to create your own title grid paper is an excellent way to map out your ideas and can even be used as your punch guide. As I mentioned last month one key thing to remember about cross stitching is to make sure your stitches all go the same direction. For example, all my bottom stitches go from the lower left corner to the upper right corner and my top stitches go from the upper left corner to the lower right corner. It’s official I am now addicted to cross stitching on my projects. Have you tried this fun technique yet? If you do don’t forget to tag us on Instagram, we love seeing your work.
