Hello crafty friends! It's Juliana and today I have a Holiday Mix the Media home décor project to share with you that is sure to put you in a festive mood!
When it comes to creating DIY home décor projects, I always like to keep my eyes open for things that would be perfect to layer onto the Jillibean Soup Mix the Media frames. For this project, I used a wood cut out I found this season at a local craft store. I painted it with red acrylic paint and set it to the side to dry. You could also spray paint, which would be much faster, but it's already too cold where I live to spray paint outside. Once this was dry, I laid it inside a Mix the Media 12x16 Rustic Frame White and immediately knew it needed more.
I went through my stash of papers and embellishments and came across our beautiful felt flowers. I knew this would be the perfect thing to add to the piece. To give the flowers a more holiday feel, I adhered them to some evergreen sprigs, berries and mini pinecones using a hot glue gun. I laid these in the frame with the wood cut, but I felt like it still needed something more. That extra touch was a strip of patterned paper behind the wood cut. I then adhered everything in place and my Holiday Mix the Media home décor piece was complete and ready to decorate my home this holiday season.
