Hey friends! Erica here with you today to share how you can use white silhouette shapes to add texture and dimension to your layout. Jillibean Soup has a ton of silhouette shapes in the Silhouette Design Store. I think the different Mandala shapes work great for this type of layout.
Once I found my shape in the Silhouette Design Store I cut it out on some thick textured white cardstock. I also used the same type of cardstock for my background. I rolled up the petals on the cutfile so that when I placed it on my cardstock base the ends would curl up giving them dimension. Before adhering down to the cardstock base I added a few silver and pink splatters to the background. Once this was dry I applied wet adhesive to the center of the cut file and placed it in the center of the cardstock base.
The photo is of our sweet Liam and his baby sloth. I have so many photos of these two and I love every single one! He loves his baby sloth so much and the poor sloth is really starting to fall apart. I may need to find a second one as a backup! I printed the photo out in black and white and added a few layers of pattern paper from the You Make Miso Happy collection. I used different pieces of ephemera to embellish around the photo. I cut one of the big floral die cuts in half so that I could use one on each side of the photo. For my title I used one of the foam stickers in black. I think this really pops off the page with all the white.
I wanted one more pop of black on my layout so I found a heart epoxy that says love from Scrappin Happy Studio and tucked it in behind one of the florals. To finish off the layout I typed up my journaling using my We R Memory Keepers typewriter and cut them into strips. Here is a look at my completed layout.
