Designer Challenge - Father's Day! and 2 Cool For School

Even though Father's Day has come and gone, we are still continuing to honor those special guys in our lives this month.  Jillibean Soup Design Team Member Kira Ness shows us that dads deserve flowers too!  Kira created a mini album for her husband as a Father’s Day gift, using an upcycled mosquito repellent tin container.  She also confessed that she ~may~ have dressed her boys to specifically match the 2 Cool for School collection.  She started by cutting each other the papers in the collection in a 4” circle, added a photo and embellishments from 2 Cool for School to each page, and then using her sewing machine to attach each page together with some ribbon.  She finished off the tin by covering the logo with some Jillibean Soup felt flowers, along with some paper leaves using a few cut files from the Jillibean Soup Silhouette store.

Designer Challenge - Father's Day! and 2 Cool For School

Father's Day is around the corner and this month the Design Team was asked to create some Father's Day projects.  Jillibean Soup's 2 Cool For School collection is perfect for helping to create cards to give your dad and to create scrapbooking layouts to help preserve the memories. 

Jillibean Soup has a fun and easy cardmaking program that Marielle used for her Father's Day themed card. She started by choosing the 2 Cool For School collection and the large circle shaker card and insert from the Shape Shaker Program and filled her shaker insert with coordinationg Shaker Fillers. Marielle added 2 die cut circles for the interior of her card and machine stitched the Alphabean stickers before adding the shaker insert and filler.

The 2 Cool for School collection works great for guys of all ages.  Jaclyn used a variety of it’s versatile masculine elements, to build a page documenting her family’s Father’s Day memories from 2017.  The focal point of this page is the eye -catching title that Jaclyn created with a Jillibean Soup silhouette design and an array of papers.  To balance out the heavy title design she created clusters of embellishments which frame the photo’s top and bottom edges, as well as alongside her journaling.  While there are variety of patterns scattered throughout the page design, Jaclyn keeps the finished look cohesive by using clean lines and a consistent color palette.  It pays to limit yourself to utilizing the items in just one collection, as the design work has already been done for you!
