Tuesday Tutorial Video: Rainbow Inspired Layout

Who doesn’t love rainbows!  Rainbows provide a great color palette of inspiration for your next scrapbook project. Jillibean Soup has a great variety of patterned papers that can be easily combined in rainbow array!

Designer Nicole Nowosad shares she created this scrapbook layout using strips of paper from Jillibean Soup 6x8 paper pads in a rainbow of color! She added in a rainbow of various Jillibean Soup embellishments such as stickers, washi tape strips and puffy stickers too!

She added in a neutral title using Jillibean Soup foam stickers and some fussy cut flowers in a rainbow of colors to add some movement to the strips of paper along the left edge of the page.

Tuesday Tutorial Video: Shape Shaker Cards

Hi there, Amy Sheffer here today with a Tuesday Tutorial video. Today I’ll be sharing how to combine Jillibean Soup’s Shape Shaker products with shaped cards for shaped Shape Shaker cards. Too fun! I always love making shaped cards, but don’t remember to do them often enough. Using a Shape Shaker element as the card shape is even better! All it takes is some tracing, layering, and your favorite Shaker Filler.

Tuesday Tutorial Video - Gate Fold Card

Card making just got a little more fun with this gate fold card tutorial featuring Jillibean Soup’s You Make Miso Happy Collection patterned paper and clear stamp set. A gate fold card is a card that folds into the center from both sides. If this sounds intimidating simply follow our super simple tutorial.

Step 1: Cut your base white cardstock 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches. Score fold lines at the 2 1/4 and 6 3/8-inch marks and fold accordingly. Using a Score Pal makes this process easy, note the score lines for a gate fold card are marked with dots.

Step 2: Cut 1 piece of patterned paper 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches, then cut in half at the 2 1/8-inch mark. Cutting your patterned paper this way will ensure your pattern lines up at the center of your gate fold card.

Step 3: Position a 3-inch metal circle die in the center of your card and using washi tape only one side of the die in place. Note: use washi that isn’t too sticky, so you don’t ruin the patterned paper when it is removed. Open your card flat and run through your die machine.

Step 4: Fold your card, line up the metal die with the cut-out area and tape down the opposite side. Then open your card and once again run through you die machine.

Step 5: Stamp your favorite images to create an end scene for your card. I always stamp more than I will probably use, I love having choices when I build my card.

Step 6: Cut a black piece of cardstock 4 x 51/4 inches, stamp greeting with VersaMark ink, top with white embossing powder and heat. This will be the background of the inside of your card. Build the scene from your stamped images and die cut with a circle. Cut a strip a white cardstock approximately 1/2 x 10 inches, stamp a second greeting in the center, then fold around the card overlapping in the back, glue and trim the excess.

 

Step 7: Put your card together by adhering your stamped scene and slipping the greeting banner around your card to help keep it closed.

Tuesday Tutorial Video - Using a Monogram on a Scrapbook Layout

Hey friends Erica here with you today for another Tuesday Tutorial post! Make sure to stick around to the very end to check out my process video! Have you ever used a monogram on a project? How about using a monogram on a scrapbook page? Well today I want to share how I created a layout using a monogram to highlight our sweet Alyssa Danielle!

I used the Skinny Alpha Letter set from the Silhouette Design store that you can find HERE! I love this alpha set and it can be used it so many ways! Stay tuned for more using this cut file but for today we are just using the letter A.

I have 4 photos of our sweet & sassy Alyssa Danielle when she was younger and would still let me do her hair. I printed my photos in black and white and created two photo strips. I used the You Make Miso Happy collection to back the A cut file and also to embellish my layout.

For some added texture I used my sewing machine to add some stitching around the letter A. The floral pea pod parts in the You Make Miso Happy collection are my favorite part of this collection and I love tucking them around my photos to embellish layouts.

Tuesday Tutorial Video: Kids Valentine Ideas

Hi Jillibean Soup friends, it’s Designer Jaclyn Rench joining you on the blog today.  I’ve got a trio of super cute Valentines to share, that any little one in your life will surely swoon over!

What kid doesn’t love puppies?  Nope, you don’t have to gift your little one a real dog to evoke the same emotion that this sweet, colored pup will guarantee!  Especially when said dog is accompanied by a background of ombre hearts and a sweet punny sentiment!

Maybe you’re sending Valentine snail mail to your favorite curious kiddo.  If so, they might appreciate a greeting adorned with this festive and lovable monster.  He’s standing on a pile of the cutest wood veneer hearts and has his arms outstretched to deliver a squishy hug.  And again, that sentiment is just too cute, especially when delivered inside a speech bubble.

Tuesday Tutorial Video

Hello there, Amy Sheffer here today with a Tuesday Tutorial video. Today is all about feminine cardmaking. What are your favorite ways to add that feminine touch to your cards? I’m sharing some of mine in today’s video.

Spoonful of Soul is one of my favorite collections because of the soft, feminine colors and images. The muted colors are perfect for the look I had in mind: soft and feminine without being too over the top girly.

I’ve combined various Spoonful of Soul Pea Pod Parts with a Bite Size Bits sentiment in a cluster design against a Garden Harvest purple gingham circle. This cluster looked beautiful against so many different Spoonful of Soul pattern combinations that it was hard to decide. In the end, I settled on the purple gingham against a crisp white linen background.

The patterns, colors choices, and images are all quite feminine already, but I’ve also added some bling with sequins, glossy accents, and clear shimmer. To brighten everything up, I finished with white splatter and white gel pen accents.

Tuesday Tutorial Layout Video

Cut files are my jam and that is no secret! I create with them about 99.95 of the time and I always love the end results! I love that you can take one cut file and create more than one look. When I see a cut file I can usually picture 3 different designs in my head. I can change up the file, make it bigger, make is smaller, arrange the words on a page in a different way. This is one of the reasons why I love working with cut files! Today I am going to use one of the Jillibean Soup cut files that is laid out one way on the page but will show you a couple other different ways it could be laid out!

I saw the JBS cut file This is Us in the Silhouette Design Store and at first I thought I would do a layout of Michael and I but then decided on a layout of my bestie Jami and I! We recently attended a scrapbook event and took a ton of photos! We had the best time and we had a lot of comments on how crazy and fun we were! Well that is just us that is how we are all the time! We love to have fun,  we love to laugh and do crazy things! So this is us!

I decided to use the Spoonful of Soul collection on this layout! It has been a while since I pulled this collection out and I forgot how much I loved it! The sayings are perfect and I even took one of the sayings off one of the Pea Pod Parts and typed it out for my journaling!

The image for the cut file shows it laid out horizontal, which is one way to use it! But I changed it up a bit on the page to fit my photo to the left of the word This. I added the Is Us below that and I love how it turned out! I added a lot of floral pea pod parts along with some wood veneer butterflies and enamel shapes.

Christmas Card Tuesday Tutorial Video

Hi there, Amy Sheffer here today with a clean-and-simple Christmas tree card video.

I started with some ombre stamping on this tree image from the Winter Wishes stamp and die set.

Next, I added colorful Foam Ball Shaker Filler as tree ornaments and a crisp black sentiment on a white card base. Fun and festive!
